Ford has announced a new recall for possible high-pressure fuel pump failures on certain Super Duty pickup trucks. This isn’t the first time these pickups have been recalled for fuel pump failures, as some of them were recalled for exactly the same issue at the end of 2024. Because selected models weren’t repaired properly, a new recall has been issued for a smaller number of F-Series models. Here’s everything we know about the new recall.
Ford Super Duty Fuel Pump Recall

Ford
The latest recall applies to 7,105 Ford models, including the following variants and model years:
- 2020-2022 Ford F-250
- 2020-2022 Ford F-350
- 2020-2022 Ford F-450
- 2020-2022 Ford F-550
- 2021-2022 Ford F600
- 2022 Ford F-750
According to information on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components. If this happens, the high-pressure fuel pump could fail. A previous software update for the powertrain control module (PCM) and transmission control module (TCM) has proven ineffective, which is why the latest batch of pickups need a new PCM software update.
No crash or injury reports have been received in relation to this issue.

What Owners Should Do Now

Ford
If you own one of these pickups, you can use your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check if you have an affected model—this can be searched for on the NHTSA’s website. Owners can also call the Ford customer service line on 1-866-436-7332 for more information on recall number 26S17.
Ford will be sending out owner notification letters from March 30, 2026. Until then, drivers of one of these Super Duty models should watch out one of these symptoms, which may be related to the fuel pump failing:
- A loss of power
- Any unusual noises
- An illuminated check engine light
If your vehicle is affected, Ford will update the PCM, free of charge.Â

Ford’s High Rate of Recalls Continues

Ford
In 2025, Ford broke the industry record for annual records in the U.S. with over 150 recalls across its lineup. However, the company says many recalls have been proactive and form part of its overall strategy to improve vehicle quality.Â
Although this fuel pump recall is a relatively small one, other Super Duty models were implicated in a much larger recall of over 4.3 million models last month. That involved the possible failure of trailer brakes when towing. Another group of Super Duty models were also recalled this March due to a driveshaft issue, which was traced to a supplier fault.
Owners of potentially implicated models are urged to drive cautiously until faults can be repaired, even if those faults have not yet led to injuries or crashes.
