Many engines earn a name either because an automaker brands the powerplant a certain way or fans apply a moniker to them. For example, we’ve all heard of the Chrysler Hellcat. Ford has also had several famously named engines throughout history. The most popular these days is the Coyote V8, one of the latest iterations of the Blue Oval’s Modular powerplant family.
