
- Franklin Street, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, promoted Greg Matus as Executive Vice President. Matus, who has been with Franklin Street for 11 years and previously served as Managing Director, is based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office and will continue to lead the firm’s Capital Markets business line which includes Investment Sales and Capital Advisory. In his new role, Matus will also have expanded external responsibilities related to advancing the firm’s growth strategy.Â
- Savills Q1 Tampa Bay office market report reveals 2.1 million square feet (msf) of leasing activity representing a 79% year-over-year increase.
- Marcus and Millichap announced today the sale of Red Oak Village, a 75,011-square-foot retail center in Atlanta, Georgia, for $9 million. The deal involved seller financing negotiations for a 1031 exchange buyer. Salim Valiani and Alex Goodale marketed the property on behalf of the seller, Y & H Property Inc., and procured the buyer, BJ & Properties LLC. Located at 3435 Roosevelt Highway, the four-building center spans 9.86 acres and is home to 22 tenants, including Family Dollar, Wayfield Foods, T-Mobile and the U.S. Postal Service. All tenants operate under triple-net leases.
- The Boathouse Marine Center, a dry-stack marina in Pompano Beach, sold for $16.1 million. S. Florida Business Journal reports Larro Holdings sold the 36,000-square-foot boat sales, repair and storage building at 599 S. Federal Highway to BlueWater Marinas. First United Bank and Trust Co. provided a $12.5 million mortgage with a five-year maturity to the buyer. The property last sold for $2.45 million in 2013.
- The San Souci Plaza retail buildings in North Miami sold for $16 million. The S. Florida Business Journal reports Matthews Real Estate Partners sold the combined 47,350 square feet of retail at 2104 and 222 N.E. 123rd St. to a company led by Sebastian Guejman in Aventura. Avison Young’s Michael T. Fay, John K. Crotty, David Duckworth; Brian C. de la Fé; and Philip Shapiro represented the seller in the deal, while Mario Borda of BCRE worked with the buyer.
