The historic Flood Building in San Francisco has completed a full rebrand following Kidder Mathews’ assignment earlier this year to oversee leasing of its multi-tenant office space and property management for the entire building. Located at 870 Market St., the 12-story, 300,000-square-foot Union Square property is unveiling a refreshed identity in a new website.
Construction on the building began in 1902, commissioned by James Clair Flood’s son, James L. Flood, as a tribute to his father. Completed in 1904, it is among the few major downtown structures to withstand
the 1906 earthquake and fire. The property has remained under Flood family ownership for more than a century.
“The Flood Building is more than a piece of history—it’s a living landmark at the heart of San Francisco,”
said Kidder Mathews SVP Jim Walker, who leads the office leasing assignment alongside Scott Vix, CCIM, SIOR; Martin Melbardis; and Kate Schmitz. “Immaculately preserved and modernized where it matters, the building’s story is already here. This rebrand is about telling that story, showcasing its stature and inviting new tenants to be part of its next chapter as the city looks ahead to the future.”
