
The current EV picture looks grim. The early 2020s were the “peak of inflated expectations” on the Gartner Hype Cycle, with many automakers – even those without a credible EV in their lineup – trotting out plans to be all-electric by 2030. Now, with some assistance from new Trump administration policies, the automotive industry has cascaded down to the “trough of disillusionment” with EVs.
