Federal law enforcement has arrested Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups in connection with a broader investigation into sports betting, The Associated Press reported Thursday.
The exact charges facing the two men are unclear, but FBI Director Kash Patel is expected to make an announcement in the case.
The Hill has reached out to the NBA for comment, as well as to the attorney of Rozier, Jim Trusty, who also previously served on President Trump’s legal team.
Rozier was on the court as recently as Wednesday evening as the Heat played the Orlando Magic, with the AP reporting he was arrested in Florida on Thursday morning.
The case targets two high-profile figures in basketball. Billups, a longtime player and coach, was inducted into the national Basketball Hall of Fame last year.
