This is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.
After a pretty huge upgrade last year, for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung doesn’t appear to be making any massive changes this year at least when it comes to the design. However, it might be a hair thicker this year.
Dimensions are said to be about 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5mm when unfolded, and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded. That’s just a bit thicker than last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, but remember that these are approximate dimensions, and it could be thinner or thicker.
Samsung is sticking with the same 8-inch inner display and 6.5-inch outer display, and still has no under-display camera. Which is likely a good thing since that under-display camera was pretty much trash.
Design-wise, Samsung is still sticking with the sharp corners, flat sides, and a pretty large camera bump. The camera bump itself is about 5.5mm thick.
It’s important to note that this is created from CADs, which are not always super detailed. So some aspects here could be wrong, like speaker sizes, SIM slot placement, colors, and other things. But for the most part, this is the design.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Upgrades
Samsung is expected to bring some internal upgrades to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, specifically around the battery. Reportedly, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a larger 5,000mAh capacity battery. This would be the first change to the battery capacity since the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which actually saw a decrease from the Galaxy Z Fold 2 (4400mAh on Galaxy Z Fold 3 and 4500mAh on Galaxy Z Fold 2).
Additionally, Samsung is bringing 45W charging to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, so it’ll also charge faster. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra recently got upgraded to 60W. And the last major upgrade is going to be the ultrawide, which will now be a 50-megapixel sensor, but Samsung is reportedly sticking with the same 10-megapixel 3x telephoto here.
Samsung could also bring back S Pen support for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which could also be why the dimensions are slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Last year, Samsung informed us that they decided against S Pen support to make the device as thin as possible. Adding the digitizer to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which enables the S Pen to work, would make it a bit thicker.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Expected Price
Last year, Samsung raised the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to $1,999. Which made sense given all of the upgrades that Samsung put into that foldable. It was a huge year-over-year upgrade, and kind of warranted the $200 price increase. This year, we’re expecting the price to remain the same. With the rate that flash storage and RAM prices are increasing, it’s hard to say for certain that the price won’t increase.
A lot of this will also depend on what the iPhone Fold is expected to be priced at. Most recent rumors have stated that Apple is aiming for a $2,000 price point. This is where the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was already priced.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch date
While we’re still quite a few months out from when Unpacked typically takes place, we do expect that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be announced this summer. In the past few years, Samsung has held Unpacked in mid-July, though with the earlier Unpacked for the Galaxy S26 series having been moved back to February, it’s possible that the foldables get moved back to August. Bringing it closer to when the iPhone is announced.
And that is a bigger deal this year than usual. Apple is rumored to be launching its own foldable this year. A wider fold, similar to the OPPO Find N2 and Google Pixel Fold. Samsung is also working on this and should announce it around the same time.
