The Samsung Galaxy S26+ aka Galaxy S26 Plus is back. Just to be clear, based on previous releases, Samsung will use the Galaxy S26+ name, without actually writing out the ‘Plus’ part. Why do we say it’s back? Well, the Galaxy S26 Edge was rumored to replace the Galaxy S26+, but Samsung changed its mind. Poor Galaxy S25 Edge sales probably had something to do with it, so Samsung opted to return to the Galaxy S26+ after all. With that being said, it’s not only a name change, as the design will look different too. We’ve exclusively revealed the Galaxy S26 Edge design, but that design won’t be used. We’re now back with the Samsung Galaxy S26+ aka Galaxy S26 Edge design.
The Samsung Galaxy S26+ CAD renders are here
Once again, we’re leading the charge with this leak, as this is the first sighting of the Galaxy S26+ design. The images you can see in the gallery below are CAD-based (the colors are not official, just visual representations). You’ll notice that this design resembles the Galaxy S25+ more than it does the Galaxy S25 Edge, as there is no large camera bar on the back. More on that later. Let’s talk about the design itself, starting from the front side.
The Galaxy S26+ has a flat display with thin, uniform bezels
You’ll notice that a flat display is used here, with a centered display camera hole up top. That display will measure 6.7 inches, approximately. The bezels around that display are thin, and they’re also uniform, which is always nice to see. That part is expected, as all three phones in the series will use flat display with thin, uniform bezels. The same goes for the camera hole. You’ll also notice that the corners of the phone are rounded, which is also to be expected. They’re slightly more rounded than what we’ll see from the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The sides of the phone aka the phone’s frame will be flat, as you can see. Yes, the frame will curve slightly towards the edges, for comfort’s sake, but it will be flat for the most part. That curve is nice to see, however, as it does make the phone a lot more comfortable to hold and use. Samsung did something similar with last year’s model, so that’s not surprising at all. You’ll notice that all the of the phone’s buttons sit on the right-hand side. The power/lock button is placed below the volume up and down keys.
The camera setup is the most notable visual difference compared to its predecessor
If we flip the phone around, we’ll get to the most notable visual difference compared to its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy S26+ will feature a vertical camera island in the top-left corner. That pill-shaped camera island will include three cameras on it, all three of which will also protrude on their own. The LED flash will sit right next to the camera island, to the right of it. The backplate of the phone is flat, as you can see, while the company’s branding will sit in the lower portion of the backplate.
Thanks to these CAD-based renders, we also know the dimensions of the device. Well, rough dimensions of the phone, they may differ very slightly in the official documentation. The Samsung Galaxy S26+ will measure 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35mm. So, it will be thin, but it won’t be as thin as the Galaxy S26 Edge would have been. That was to be expected. This is, more or less, the same thickness that the Galaxy S25+ offers.

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ specifications (rumored)
We don’t have any other specs to exclusively share other than the display size and dimensions of the Galaxy S26+. However, plenty of specifications have leaked thus far, so we’ll round all those up in this section. Let’s start with the processor, or should we say, processors. The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is tipped to be a part of Samsung’s dual chip strategy. In some regions, the phone will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s most powerful chip to date. In other regions, Samsung’s very own Exynos 2600 chip will be used.
When it comes to RAM, nothing has leaked yet, but we can guess. We’re guessing that Samsung will include 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM in the phone, though there could also be a 16GB RAM variant, or only a 16GB RAM variant, it remains to be seen. We’ll likely get both 256GB and 512GB storage options here. The company is expected to utilize UFS 4.0 flash storage here, and no, you won’t be able to expand that via a microSD card slot.
Its display will keep the same 6.7-inch size
When it comes to its display, a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X panel is expected. That display will offer an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz), while we’re also expecting it to be quite bright when needed. The resolution Samsung is expected to use is 3120 x 1440, while the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 could be Samsung’s protection of choice. A display aspect ratio expected here is 19.5:9, but that could change. This panel will be flat, as mentioned in the display section, while there will also be a display camera hole on it.
When it comes to the battery, we’re still not sure. However, the phone could retain the same 4,900mAh unit the Galaxy S25+ is using. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is tipped to utilize the exact same 5,000mAh unit as its predecessor, so the same could be the case with the Galaxy S26+. It remains to be seen. In terms of charging, 45W wired and 15W wireless charging is expected. There is a chance that 25W wireless charging will be on offer, though. The phone will include magnets on the inside for proper Qi2 wireless charging. A charger won’t be included in the box.
Camera rumors are all over the place, but don’t expect major changes
What about the cameras? Well, one far-fetched rumor claims that the Galaxy S26+ is expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera (ISOCELL S5KGNG sensor, 1/2.76-inch sensor size), along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (Sony’s IMX564 sensor, 1/2.55-inch sensor size), and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera (ISOCELL S5K3LD, 1/3.2-inch sensor size). Out of those three sensors, only the ultrawide one is the same as on the previous-gen model. That doesn’t seem to be accurate, as the main camera sensor is way too small. A more trusted source claims that the telephoto camera will be even smaller this time around, while the main camera will remain the same. That’s the information that is probably accurate. The ultrawide camera will be either similar or the same. Either way, we won’t be seeing major upgrades, if any at all.
The Galaxy S26+ is expected to ship with Android 16 out of the box, with One UI 8.5 on top of it. Bluetooth 6.0 is also expected, and the same goes for Wi-Fi 7. The phone will likely be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, and include an in-display fingerprint scanner (ultrasonic). The phone will measure 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35mm, roughly.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series naming confusion
Samsung is all over the place with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series this year. The company initially planned to launch the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra models. After a while, Samsung changed its mind and reverted back to the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, in addition to launching the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Why? Well, the Galaxy S25 Edge sales were allegedly so poor that they made Samsung change its mind at the last minute. So we’re getting the same model names as last year.
That change also prompted Samsung to change the design of the Galaxy S26+ as well. The Galaxy S25 Edge was supposed to have a huge camera bar on the back, which is not the case with the Galaxy S26+. On top of that, the Galaxy S26+ is thicker than the Galaxy S26 Edge would have been. It’s still very thin in the general sense of things, but it’s notably thicker than the Galaxy S26 Edge would have been. Not many people will complain, though.
How will the Galaxy S26+ compare to its predecessor?
How does the Galaxy S26+ compare to its predecessor? Well, the two phones are very similar, design-wise. There is one obvious difference, which we’ll start with, but the rest is very similar. The difference can be found on the back of the two phones. The Galaxy S25+ includes three vertically-aligned cameras in the top-left corner of its back. Each of those cameras protrudes directly from the backplate.
With the Galaxy S26+, the story is a bit different. That phone, as you can see, also has three vertically-aligned cameras on the back, and in the same spot as the Galaxy S25+, but the setup looks different. These three cameras are placed on top of a pill-shaped camera island. Not only does the camera island itself protrude on the back, but each of those three cameras as well. The LED flash sits in the same spot as on the Galaxy S25+, though, next to those three cameras.
Both smartphones have flat displays, and both of them have a centered display camera hole in basically the same spot. Even their bezels are both thin and uniform, not to mention that the corner curvature is very similar as well. Differentiating between the two phones from the front is next to impossible. Even their height and width are almost the same. The Galaxy S26+ is slightly wider. Both phones are also made out of aluminum and glass, while both of them have flat sides too. We’re still not sure about the Galaxy S26+’s weight, but that too is expected to be very similar to what the Galaxy S25+ offers.
Samsung Galaxy S25+ vs Galaxy S26+ spec comparison
These two smartphones do share some of their specifications, but there are also some improvements that the Galaxy S26+ will deliver. Do note that the spec information is based on rumors, and it has not yet been confirmed. Let’s start with the processors, that’s the most obvious difference. The Galaxy S25+ is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm. Its successor will utilize a dual-chip strategy. It will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in some regions, and the Exynos 2600 in others. At the time of writing this article, the Exynos 2600 was not official just yet.
The displays won’t be that much different
The display specs could end up being the same. We still don’t have all the information, but both phones utilize a 6.7-inch display. The Galaxy S25+ has a 3120 x 1440 LTPO AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy S26+ could end up offering that exact same display. That phone could end up offering more in the brightness department, however, and possibly different display protection. For the most part, however, the displays will be on the same playing field.
The Galaxy S25+ offers 256GB and 512GB storage options, and the Galaxy S26+ could follow suit. It will offer either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while the Galaxy S25+ comes with 12GB. The same 4,900mAh battery is expected to be included on the Galaxy S26+, at least based on what we’ve seen thus far. The Galaxy S26+ will ship with Android 16 out of the box, along with One UI 8.5. The Galaxy S25+ already received the Android 16 update, while the One UI 8.5 will arrive after the Galaxy S26+ launches.
Very similar, or even the same camera hardware will be used
What about the cameras? Well, it all depends on what rumor you end up believing. The Galaxy S25+ has a 50-megapixel main camera, backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. Those cameras are not the latest or the greatest, hardware-wise. A trusted source doesn’t believe that the camera sensors will get upgrades, while some other sources do believe two of them will. It remains to be seen.

Its price & where does the Galaxy S26+ fit in
If Samsung ends up keeping the same price tag as for the Galaxy S25+, $999, or increases it, the Galaxy S26+ will have plenty of competition in the market. There are a lot of phones out there that cost around $999 that can compete with this phone, and arguably even beat it. The iPhone 17, for example, is priced at $799 in the US, while the Pixel 10 Pro costs $999. If we go beyond the US, however, there are tons of other models that come into play, from OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, HONOR, Realme, and more. No matter how you spin it, the Galaxy S26+ will have plenty of competition in the market, and it won’t be easy for Samsung to reach its sales goals. The Galaxy S25+ sales are the best example, actually.
Other Samsung Galaxy S26 devices
In addition to the Galaxy S26+, Samsung is also planning to announce the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Galaxy S26 will essentially be a smaller variant of the Galaxy S26+. It will have almost the same specs, save for the display size, resolution, and battery size, plus wired charging speed. Even the design of the Galaxy S26 is expected to be the same as the Galaxy S26+, albeit the phone will be smaller, of course. Well, at least based on what we’ve seen last year.
What about the Galaxy S26 Ultra? Well, it will look the most similar to its siblings than ever before, but it will still be a bit different. It will include more cameras on the back and thus offer a different look. Its corners are also expected to be slightly sharper, albeit still rounded. That phone will also include an S Pen stylus, which won’t be the case for either the Galaxy S26 or Galaxy S26+.
