No new design change coming to iPhone 18 Pro
Yes, you heard that right; the biggest design change to the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max would be more color options. But what colors are we talking about? That remains to be seen. So far, we’ve heard rumors that Apple is exploring a new “deep red” finish. There are also rumors that Apple might keep the Cosmic Orange finish, which supposedly helped drive the success of the iPhone 17 in China.
There were hopes that we could get a true black iPhone, but a recent report has killed those dreams as well. For context, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max launched in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver. Only three color options. We’re not sure if Apple is adding more colors or if they plan to replace some of them. Either way, we’ll have to wait until September to find out more.
For 2026, Apple is reportedly only launching two flagship models. This includes the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with the base model only expected next year. The company is also rumored to finally dip its toes into the foldables game with its first-ever foldable iPhone later this year.

If the rumors are true, the iPhone 18 series is shaping up to be a bit of a boring update, at least in terms of design. However, subsequent reports suggest that may no longer be happening.
We can’t say we blame Apple for keeping the iPhone 18 a bit boring. The company already redesigned the iPhone with the iPhone 17. It was unlikely that the iPhone 18 would see drastic changes. If anything, you’ll probably have to wait until 2027 for a fully redesigned model.
That’s because 2027 is the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. Apple is rumored to be doing something big in terms of design. However, we’ll have to wait until then to find out.
