A couple of days ago, DJI introduced the Mini 5 Pro as the world’s first mini drone featuring a 1-inch CMOS camera sensor. DJI is now planning to launch a compact action camera. Called the DJI Osmo Nano, the tech firm will introduce the new device at its “Own the Moment” event next week. Ahead of the announcement, the brand accidentally posted some photos of the device on its social media accounts. A major leak has now revealed the complete specs and features of the DJI OSMO Nano action camera.
Major leak reveals all details about DJI’s upcoming Osmo Nano action camera
According to a report by DRONEXL, DJI’s upcoming Osmo Nano appeared in an Australian webshop, which leaked its complete spec sheet, description, and features. First, let’s discuss the design. The new DJI action camera will feature a compact design, a dual-sided magnetic mount, and a range of accessories. It’ll be waterproof for up to 10 meters without any additional housing, making it a great choice for underwater photography.
The leaked specs sheet indicates that DJI will equip the Osmo Nano with an all-new 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, which will have a wide 143-degree FOV. The new image sensor provides up to 13.5 points of dynamic range, 4K/60fps video and 4K/120fps slow-motion recordings, and 10-bit & D-Log M color performance.
Multiple stabilization modes, multi-microphone support, and a long-lasting battery
It’ll also get a super night mode, which improves image quality with noise reduction algorithms. Furthermore, the leaked specs suggest that the Osmo Nano will offer Horizon Balancing and Rock Steady 3.0 stabilization modes, which support up to 4K/60fps video recording. The camera will let users pair up to two microphone transmitters directly without receivers to capture two audio sources at the same time.
DJI will offer the Osmo Nano with a multifunctional Vision Dock, which has a built-in OLED HD touchscreen. Furthermore, the Vision Dock offers fast charging for both the camera and itself. It can also charge the camera up to 80 percent battery level in just 20 minutes. When attached to the Vision Dock, the Osmo Nano can deliver up to 200 minutes of 1080p/24fps video recording.
Additionally, the Osmo Nano will offer high-speed contact points compatible with the USB 3.1 protocol. Users will be able to connect the camera to mobile devices or PCs using a PD fast-charging cable, which’ll deliver up to 600Mbps of transfer speeds. Other highlights include stereo recording, horizontal & vertical shooting, auto recording, nod/pat recording, pre-recording, and Wi-Fi 6.0 high-speed transfer speeds.
Launching globally next week with a bunch of bundled accessories
According to the leaks, DJI will bundle the Osmo Nano camera with a Vision Dock. The bundle package will also have a magnetic hat clip, a magnetic lanyard, a protective case, a USB-C to USB-C PD cable, and a dual-direction magnetic ball-joint adapter mount.
DJI will reportedly offer the Osmo Nano in 64GB and 128GB expandable storage variants. The former will sell for €369 (around $430), while the latter will be available for €399 (approx. $470).
If the leaks are true, the new DJI camera will offer stiff competition to the Insta360 GO 3S in the compact action camera market. We’ll have official details at the event on September 23rd, so stay tuned for regular updates.
