If you weren’t able to stay awake to watch the end of Game 3 of the World Series, you’re not the only one.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) posted on social media Tuesday morning about waking up in the middle of the night to find Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Freddie Freeman had ended Game 3 with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning, giving L.A. a 6-5 victory.
“I’m not disappointed that I fell asleep in the middle of the game,” DeSantis, an avid golfer and sports fan, wrote on X. “I’m a little disappointed that I woke up in the middle of the night, glanced at the TV, assumed the baseball game on the TV was the game 3 replay, and went right back to sleep.”
Freeman’s solo blast to center field came just before 3 a.m. Eastern, well after most causal baseball fans had likely gone to bed.
His game-sealing home run gave the Dodgers a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series, with Game 4 slated for Tuesday night in L.A.
