Colliers arranged an 83,469-square-foot lease at 2727 Kurtz St., a two-story industrial warehouse/flex research and development building in San Diego’s Sports Arena/Airport submarket. The tenant, defense contractor Saronic Technologies, Inc., signed a long-term new lease with the joint venture ownership/landlord team of Realterm and LaSalle Investment Management.
EVPs Mark Lewkowitz and Evan McDonald and associate VP Kurtis Blanchard of Colliers represented Realterm and LaSalle. Savills vice chairman Shane Poppen and associate director Louis Bickett represented Saronic.
The property’s central location has long served as a prime investment for industrial owners/users, attracting Realterm and LaSalle, which acquired the asset in 2016, and Amazon, which vacated earlier this year after occupying it since 2015.
“It’s very rare for buildings of this size, with a good, clear height, heavy power, secured parking and dock high doors to be available in the Sports Arena/Airport markets, which is part of the reason why Amazon previously leased the space for so many years,” said Lewkowitz. “Because of these attributes, we achieved a long-term lease from a strong defense company, doing work with the Navy.”
