Starwood Land has opened the Crystal Lagoon for its residents at the Sunterra master-planned community in Katy. The Houston Business Journal reports the 2.7-acre artificial lagoon, featuring turquoise water, white sand beaches and a boardwalk, cost $40 million to construct.
Called Sol Club, the water park will include a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse with a reception area, meeting rooms, multiple gathering spaces and a large patio; covered pickleball courts; sports fields; an event lawn; horseshoe pits; and a playground. The Sunterra amenity is only for residents and their guests.
Sunterra’s other amenity park, The Retreat, opened last year. The $12 million development includes a lazy river, resort-style pool, splash pad, clubhouse, yoga studio, fitness center, open-air arcade and a large playground.
