Segway is coming out with a new color for its Xafari e-bike called Crimson Red, making this the second color of its cruiser-style e-bike that was released earlier this year. Segway is generally known best for its self-balancing vehicles that were launched over two decades ago. However, the company has been making other types of electric transportation vehicles for personal use for more than a few years. It now makes scooters, as well as e-bikes, which it just announced at CES 2025. It also has a division that makes robotic lawnmowers.
Alongside the Xafari, Segway also announced and released the Xyber. The Xyber is an e-bike that takes its design inspirations from dirt bikes and motocross. Both models have a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour, but they do have different acceleration speeds. For example, the Xafari can go 0-20mph in 5.2 seconds. The Xyber, meanwhile, can get up to the max speed in 2.7 seconds.
The Segway Xafari in Crimson Red is available starting today
If you’ve been thinking about an e-bike and you like the idea of the Segway Xafari, you now have the option to choose from the Crimson Red or the Silver. When it comes to price, the Xafari retails for $2,399.99, but Segway is offering a promotional price on it. For the time being, the promo price is $1,999.99. $400 off isn’t bad at all. However, it’s worth noting that Segway doesn’t mention when the promo price ends.
All that’s mentioned is that the promotional pricing is available for a “limited time.” That means you probably don’t have too much time to grab it at a lower cost. If you don’t like the Crimson Red, Segway is offering the Silver at this promotional price as well.
The Segway Xafari e-bike has a maximum range of 88 miles on a charge, although you will need to limit your speed to 12.5mph if you want to hit that. Bumping things up to the maximum speed of 20mph cuts that range down to 62 miles. Plus, the 936Wh battery is removable when you need to recharge it. The Segway Xafari has several tech features, including AirLock, which locks up the bike’s systems when you walk away from the bike.
