Add another mixed-use project to the spate of development near the Boston Landing MBTA commuter rail station. Construction is slated to begin later this month on the residential component of a two-building project from Marblehead, MA-based Bracken Development and Philadelphia-based Pennrose, reported the Boston Business Journal.
A construction permit has been granted for the 88-unit apartment building going up at 59 Everett St. in Allston. The project also calls for 385,700 square feet of commercial space at the adjacent 119 Braintree St. The office building hasn’t gotten its permit yet, the Business Journal reported.
The project is planned for a traditionally industrial part of Allston that has seen considerable development since the Boston Landing station opened in 2017. There are two large-scale, multi-year projects in various stages of completion — Allston Yards and Boston Landing — along with a handful of standalone apartment buildings within a few blocks
