It’s always been clear that no matter what happened with EVs, internal combustion was never dead. Electric tech continues to improve, but it can’t work for all areas and situations, and so not every automaker hit pause on development of gas. Now one automaker has announced what might be the most efficient gas engine ever. Chinese automaker Chery claims a new gas engine that tops 48% thermal efficiency. The result is a model that should produce unheard of fuel efficiency when it hits the road.
