- Chevrolet revealed a refreshed Camaro for the 2026 Nascar Cup Series.
- The racer gains a new hood, reshaped grille, and updated side skirts.
- The Camaro ended in 2023, but a rumored successor may be coming.
The last Chevrolet Camaro rolled off the assembly line in December 2023, closing one chapter of a long-standing American icon. Yet the Camaro hasn’t vanished entirely. Instead, it’s been living a sort of afterlife, thundering around NASCAR circuits like a ghost that refuses to fade away.
Things are now getting even stranger as they’ve decided to give the race car a facelift for the 2026 season. Set to make its competitive debut in February, the updated model draws inspiration from the ZL1 and incorporates cues from the Camaro ZL1 Carbon Performance Package that was introduced earlier this month.

As part of the makeover, the race car features a revised grille, an updated hood, and more pronounced rocker panels. The changes aren’t revolutionary and the model is still instantly recognizable as a Camaro.
As for the Camaro ZL1 Carbon Performance Package, it was announced amid the SEMA Show to barely a shrug. Designed for 2017-2024 ZL1 coupes, the kit includes a ZL1 1LE grille as well as a new front splitter with carbon fiber end caps.
Buyers will also find an assortment of other carbon fiber goodies including rocker extensions, a hood insert, and a rear spoiler. The look can further be amplified by optional Tech Bronze wheels.
As for the future of the Camaro, the rumor mill has been running rampant. While most of this has been non-sense, Cadillac recently confirmed plans for a new ICE-powered CT5.
It’s rumored to be joined by another rear-wheel drive model based on an updated version of the Alpha platform. There’s no word on what this particular variant is, but it could be everything from a new CT4 to a Camaro sedan.
The current CT5 will go out of production in 2027 and the new model will presumably arrive shortly thereafter. The rumored second model could also be introduced around then.
