ChatGPT is easily one of the most popular AI chatbots worldwide. It is used by different enterprises, educational institutes, and individual users. OpenAI has now announced that the chatbot is getting a new “Study Mode” that will focus on providing comprehensive and step-by-step learning to the user. It will avoid providing direct answers.
New Study Modes in ChatGPT will boost students’ learning
ChatGPT provides quick and direct answers to the query. While this seems good for the user, it particularly harms the learning capabilities of the students. This is because of the fact that the students don’t understand the key concept behind the question, but end up getting the answer. And in most cases, it feels like a job done the right way.
But to solve the core issue of the problem, OpenAI has announced that it is adding a new “Study Mode” to ChatGPT. Once the user sets the bot to this particular mode and asks a question, it will provide a comprehensive and step-by-step answer. This is done to foster the understanding of the key concept. It will focus on “Socratic questioning, hints, and self-reflection prompts” to help the user learn while also getting the answer.
It is rolling out to ChatGPT free, Edu, Pro, Plus, and Team users
OpenAI says in its X/Twitter post, “As ChatGPT becomes a go-to tool for students, we’re committed to ensuring it fosters deeper understanding and learning”. It also adds in its statement that the key focus of the Study Mode of ChatGPT is to provide the connection between the topic and the answer. It not only focuses on providing quick answers.
The Study Mode will be available to ChatGPT Edu, Pro, Pius, Team, and even the free users. The rollout has started, and most users should have access to the feature in the coming days. Keep checking for the update on the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.
