Charlotte-based developer Aston and Branch Properties are working together on Phase III of a project at Highway 84 and Waxhaw Indian Trail Road in the Village of Wesley Chapel. They are looking to add 110,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and service space there. The site is in Village Commons, a retail center with over 393,000 square feet of space.
The Charlotte Business Journal reports the third phase will encompass 15.1 acres. It will be anchored by a 50,325-square-foot Publix grocery store, slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. Over 30,000 square feet has already been leased out.
About 22,000 square feet is available to lease for retail, restaurants and services.
Ashland Construction is the general contractor, with Ironhead Construction named as site contractor. Banks Engineering is the civil engineer, with Phillips Architecture serving as architect on the project.
The first 82,000 square feet was delivered in 2004. Harris Teeter anchors it.
