CBRE has arranged two 20-year lease extensions totaling 233,694 square feet for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s PPD clinical research business located along Research Way in Middleton, Wisconsin.
The Boston-based life sciences company will continue to occupy both laboratory buildings to support the business’s rapid growth and its commitment to advancing life sciences innovation. CBRE’s Chase Brieman and James West represented the landlord, an affiliate of New York City-based global investment manager Nuveen, in the lease negotiations. Thermo Fisher was represented by John Boyle and Roger Williams of Cushman & Wakefield and Craig Stanley and Deana Porter of Broadwing Advisors.
“This lease represents one of the largest life science lease deals in the U.S. this year and reflects Thermo Fisher’s confidence in the Madison market as a hub for life sciences and clinical research,” said Brieman. The properties are located just west of U.S. Highways 12 and 14, near several business parks, as well as numerous local amenities, including restaurants, shopping centers, hotels and fitness centers
