Construction crews have begun early site preparations for the North Burnet/Uptown Station in Austin. Complete construction is scheduled to begin in November. Costs are estimated at $49 million.
The new station is a joint project between CapMetro and Brandywine Realty Trust and will be located within the 66-acre Uptown ATX development near The Domain. Brandywine is providing the land and coordinating infrastructure investment as well as advancing ongoing development in the Uptown ATX district.
The Uptown ATX mixed-use community features nearly 400 luxury apartments and 350,000 square feet of office space, with future phases planned for retail, hospitality, and green space.
The station is expected to become the second-busiest stop on CapMetro’s Red Line, which connects Downtown Austin to Leander and serves as a key link in the region’s growing Project Connect commuter rail system. The project will include two double-length platforms, over a half-mile of double track, pedestrian- and bike-friendly pathways, connections to local bus routes, and 200 shared parking spaces.
