Tesla marketing chiefs secretly smile when journalists question whether a particular new and potent EV is the much-anticipated “Tesla killer.” After all, these questions speak to the brand’s dominance in the electric vehicle space and show how much of a tough time other OEMs are facing in trying to one-up the American giant. Yet those marketing chiefs may not be smiling quite as much now when faced with the all-new BMW iX3. This mid-size SUV appears to trump Tesla’s Model Y in terms of range, charging time, general presentation, and the all-important price. Could this be the start of a new era?
