This small luxury SUV is worth consideration
In the United States, the BMW X1 flies a bit under the radar, simply because this market has a preference for larger luxury crossovers like the X3 and X5. But the current X1 generation is a much better vehicle than its predecessor. It’s spacious for a subcompact model, handles confidently, and is quick enough in any guise.
It’s a solid entry point into BMW SUV ownership, and the main upside of choosing one is a lower price. If you’re interested in leasing a 2026 BMW X1 this month, BMW has a deal available that may just tempt you into taking the plunge.

This Month’s BMW X1 Lease Deals
BMW X1 BMW
The 2026 BMW X1’s lease price starts at $499 per month over 39 months, with $4,899 due at signing. This deal applies only to the xDrive28i variant and the offer is available through December 1, 2025.
This BMW X1 leasing deal excludes tax, license, registration, and dealer fees, but includes 32,500 miles of driving. If you exceed this mileage limit, you’ll be liable for a fee of $0.25/mile for every additional mile. Customers can also benefit from a loyalty credit of up to $1,000, for those who have owned or leased a BMW over the last 12 months.
The more powerful X1 M35i has 313 hp, and this model can be leased for $589/month over 39 months, with $5,219 due at signing.
As with any lease offer, this one may not apply in your location, so be sure to check BMW’s lease offers on its website.
If you prefer to buy and not lease a BMW X1, it starts at $42,800 for the same xDrive28i model featured here. The M35i, meanwhile, begins at $51,900. BMW is also offering financing at 0.90% APR for up to 48 months on both X1 trims; as with the lease deal, you’ll have to take delivery by December 1.
BMW X1 Features and Powertrain

Not much has changed for the 2026 BMW X1 other than the addition of a few new exterior colors. It still has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 241 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive, which can get this BMW from 0-60 mph in a snappy 6.2 seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is the only transmission available. With 313 hp, a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds is possible in the M35i.
With its 18-inch alloys, Satin Aluminum exterior trim, and LED exterior lighting, the xDrive28i doesn’t obviously look like an entry-level BMW. It comes with standard equipment like dual-zone automatic climate control, power front sport seats with heating, and the BMW Curved Display with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.7-inch touchscreen. Veganza imitation leather upholstery is standard, and the crossover can be upgraded with a panoramic moonroof, a head-up display, and a Harman Kardon sound system.
The M35i gets sportier trim, inside and out, and larger 19-inch wheels.
With over 25 cubic feet of trunk space, the X1 is quite a practical crossover, too.
Final Thoughts

Leasing a 2026 BMW X1 xDrive28i this month costs the same as leasing a 2025 version back in September. It’s a relatively affordable way to get behind the wheel of a new BMW, and the X1 looks and feels like a proper luxury product, which we haven’t always been able to say about smaller BMWs.
Perhaps the X1’s biggest competition is another BMW. For roughly the same lease cost and term, you could also drive off in a new 330i. Yes, the 3 Series is older, but the 330i is more powerful, quicker, and even better to drive. If you don’t need the extra cargo space of the X1, don’t overlook the legendary 3 Series.
