Plenty of compelling products have been announced at this year’s IFA, and that includes the Luna Ring 2.0. This is the company’s new smart ring, and it’s also on the receiving end of one of our IFA 2025 awards. The new version of Luna Ring actually comes with the company’s new operating system and a number of improvements, which made it stand out at the trade show in Berlin.
The Luna Ring 2.0 comes with a brand new operating system
The new operating system is easily one of the most high-profile additions here. It’s called ‘LifeOS’, and the company claims it will “transform biometrics into adaptive real-time guidance.” This operating system comes with Luna AI 2.0 assistant, and it integrates circadian rhythm science, biomarker signals, personal habits, and contextual data to create a “dynamic intelligence layer.” The company also noted that LifeOS has the experience of 1+ billion sleep events, which makes it extremely well-trained for sleep tracking.
While the Luna AI assistant is not a new feature, version 2.0 does bring a lot of novelty. It is now more contextual and conversational. It can offer suggestions for sleep optimization, movement patterns, and energy management. It takes raw data in, processes it, and then helps you make real-life wellness decisions, essentially. The Luna Ring 2.0 also comes with advanced workout tracking, which includes calories burned and effort levels. It can also track your running, cycling, walking, and freestyle training sessions.
It can track your stress, while it also has great water resistance
This smart ring can also spot stress through heart rate, recovery trends, and temperature shifts. Detecting ‘physiological shifts’ is also a feature here, and so on. The ring itself is made out of titanium, and it is 5 ATM rated. In other words, it has great water resistance, which will be enough for almost anyone. What about the battery life? That’s something many of you are probably wondering about. Well, it will offer up to 5 days on a single charge, says the company. That does extend to 21+ days with the new charging case.
The company also offers you a choice of getting the ring with a less portable dock charger or getting the Surge Charger bundle to get the best of both worlds. The price for the former is $300, while the bundled version will cost you $349. There is also no subscription required here, which is a great purchasing point compared to the competitors.
