Data center developer Beale Infrastructure is making progress on two proposed data center projects in Pima County.
AZBEX reports The Pima County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with Beale, contingent upon their commitment to $15 million in community investments and matching all energy use from the data centers with renewable energy. The agreement specifies that the data centers on a site near the Pima County Fairgrounds will be air-cooled.
And in the town of Marana, Beale received rezoning approval on two 300-acre parcels the company says it needs to build another data center. Beale has to procure their own water supply, rather than relying on Town resources. Like the Tucson-area project, the Marana facility will be air-cooled to minimize its water usage. Marana Water will provide water for office operations. The company says the data center campus will consume 95% less water than the parcels’ current agricultural uses.
