Audi promised 10 new plug-in hybrid EVs this year, and it intends to keep that promise. The German marque has started its PHEV onslaught with the new Audi A5, adding a plug to the midsize model in both Avant and Sedan forms. Built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, the new electrified model gets a new “e-hybrid” designation, which we’ll likely see in future plug-in hybrid products from Ingolstadt.
