AT&T becomes the first and only carrier to launch a smartphone for kids — the amiGo Jr. Phone, and there’s a smartwatch too. The former can be a good choice as your kids’ first personal smartphone. While it’s not winning any awards for the design, it has a noble purpose behind it, and its pricing is also quite good. AT&T says it’s a “simple and safe” smartphone designed to keep parents connected and kids protected.

The AT&T amiGo Jr. Phone is built in collaboration with Samsung, leveraging the latter’s expertise in hardware. The design of it is pretty basic; you get triple cutouts on the back panel. There’s a waterdrop notch on the front with thick black borders. The volume rocker and power button are present on the right edge. The phone also comes with a free AT&T amiGO app, which allows parents to easily manage screentime, apps, and settings.
There are additional features like location sharing, Safe Zones, and Schedules to limit distractions during school hours. The phone gets you 5G network connectivity, alongside Bluetooth 5.3, Dual SIM support, and GPS. It runs on Android 16 OS out of the box.
5,000mAh battery, 50MP camera, and 5G network
The AT&T amiGo Jr. Phone sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with 2,340 X 1,080 pixels resolution. It features Samsung’s Exynos 1330 SoC, similar to that of the Galaxy A17. There’s 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via a microSD card up to 1.5TB. It houses a 5,000mAh battery. While the fast charging details are not explicitly mentioned, the listing on the website shows it can charge to 50% in up to 30 minutes.
