ASUS has announced the US launch of its 2026 Zenbook lineup. The new line is comprised of five different laptop models, each of which has something unique to offer, though there are plenty of similarities too. The newly launched models include the Zenbook A16, A14, S16, S14, and standard Zenbook 14. All of these laptops are under $2,000 which, is a little surprising given the current state of affairs with component prices in the market. While the price range is good, these aren’t nearly as affordable as Apple’s MacBook Neo.
The RAM shortage has shot up prices on RAM kits, SSD storage, and even full laptops and PCs to where most things are anything but affordable. Yet, at a time when component costs are at an all-time high, ASUS has managed to release five new Zenbook laptops that can be acquired for pretty reasonable price. That isn’t to say it will stay that way, of course. More than likely, ASUS will end up having to charge more money for future devices eventually. For now, though, each of these new Zenbooks is within a reasonable price range. There’s a good reason for that with some of them.
The US launch of ASUS’s 2026 Zenbook lineup includes Snapdragon X2 Elite models
Laptops powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset aren’t generally super expensive compared to those running high-end Intel and AMD equivalents. These laptops also don’t come with the most expensive RAM and storage options, nor do they house a powerful NVIDIA GPU for gaming. So, that’s likely part of the reason. The two least expensive laptops in the bunch are the Zenbook A14 and the Zenbook 14. These come in at $1,349.99. Both feature about 1TB of storage, but they come with different chipsets. The Zenbook A14 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite, while the Zenbook 14 is running on the AMD Ryzen AI 400.
Meanwhile the Zenbook S16 is running on the same AMD chip, and the S14 is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 chips. These retail for $1,899.99 and $1,999.99, respectively. Lastly, ASUS’s Zenbook A16 retails for $1,699.99, making it the middle of the road option. That being said, ASUS confirms it isn’t going to be available in stores until Q2. So, there’s a bit of a wait. All four other laptops are already available.
Snapdragon is the way to go for long-lasting batteries
Everyone’s needs for a laptop will be fairly different, but if you’re seeking the best possible battery life, the Snapdragon Zenbook models are probably what you want to go for. These can offer up to 33 hours of battery on a single charge, which is a pretty long time.
When you finally drain the battery it even has the ability to gain 50% of it back in just 30 minutes. So you aren’t down for long and are able to get back to whatever it was you were doing.
