The Sweetwater Town Center is adding a hotel to its mixed-use project in Apex. The Triangle Business Journal reports that a new Tempo by Hilton hotel will have 125 rooms and 4,000 square feet of retail and meeting space. A rooftop bar and main-floor restaurant will also be part of the offering.
Bhavik Patel, with Blue Chip Development, is the hotel’s developer. In November, Patel purchased the 4.87-acre site at 1051 Newland Drive for $3 million. Patel plans to start construction by the end of the year and open the hotel during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Retail Strategies of NC has been handling retail deals at Sweetwater for the project’s developers, The Kalikow Group and ExperienceOne Homes.
Sweetwater’s retail spaces are 100 percent leased, with Harris Teeter as the project’s anchor.
