Anthropic has launched interactive apps within the Claude. The launch apps mostly focus on the workplace tools, including Slack, Canva, Figma, Box, Amplitude, Asana, Hex, and Clay. Salesforce implementation is coming soon. This new feature is available to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, so free users won’t be able to access it.
Anthropic launches interactive Claude apps
Claude’s interactive apps system is similar to OpenAI’s Apps system, which enables interactive third-party tools. The app integration is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is an open standard introduced by Anthropic in 2024 for connecting tools to AI applications. MCP launched support for apps in November last year.
Claude already connects to your tools and takes actions on your behalf. The new change means that tools show up right in the conversation. This enables you to see what’s happening and collaborate in real time.
Not available for free users
When connected to Box, Claude can search for files, preview documents inline, and even ask questions about your content. When you connect with Clay, Claude can research companies, find contacts with emails and phone info, and more. With Canva, Claude can create presentation outlines, customize branding, and design in real-time. Eligible users can activate the interactive Claude apps at Claude.ai/directory on the desktop and web.
The new apps will be especially useful when integrated with Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s all-purpose agent tool from last week. Built on top of Claude, Cowork lets users assign multistage tasks that draw on large and open-ended datasets-no terminal needed. Combined with the new apps feature, Cowork gains access to cloud files or ongoing work projects. At launch, apps are not available in Cowork, but Anthropic notes that the integration is coming soon.Â
