Android 16 is making its way to the Motorola Razr 2024 this week, and while it’s probably not the last device on Motorola’s list to get the update, it wasn’t exactly one of the first devices, either. Android 16 brings forward several enhancements, like one-tap connection for Wi-Fi and hotspots, a more streamlined access menu for Do Not Disturb, Driving, and Bedtime Mode, better support for low-energy audio hearing aids, and many more things.
There will be a few minor visual changes, but the overall look of Android will remain the same, as there weren’t a ton of tweaks to the UI style from Android 15 to Android 16. Any visual tweaks that do pop up will be more subtle, and some users may not even notice the change was made.
Android 16 is rolling out to the Motorola Razr 2024 in Canada
This is probably the one big caveat to keep in mind if you’re still using a 2024 Motorola Razr. You may not be getting the update today. As reported by Ytechb and GizmoChina, the Android 16 update is being pushed out to the Motorola Razr 2024 in Canada. There doesn’t appear to be any word of users in other regions getting the update just yet. So it’s possible that Motorola has started in Canada and will continue to trickle the update to other regional models of the phone.
It’s also possible that Motorola is rolling things out at the same time across multiple regions or all regions, and users just haven’t reported it yet. Either way, keep your eyes out for the new software if you’re using this phone. Because an update might be available. You can also check manually by going to the settings and checking the update status. If it’s been pushed to the phone in your region, then the update should be available for download.
If you’re curious about what Android 16 will look like on your older device, all three of the Moto G models that have launched so far this year have launched with Android 16. So the UI styling and any visual changes will look like what you see on those phones. This includes the Motorola Moto G 2026, the Moto G Play 2026, and the Moto G Power 2026.
