Following the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 13R, the OnePlus Open is now getting the Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 update. We’re talking about a global model of the phone here, of course.
The rollout does kick off in India, in case you’re wondering, but it will spread to other regions very soon. In fact, it may even be rolling out elsewhere by the time you’re reading this. The update is marked as CPH2551_16.0.0.201(EX01), though that number could differ a bit in other markets.
Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 is now rolling out to the OnePlus Open
This is a huge update, no matter how you look at it. The changelog that OnePlus is offering is simply huge. That’s not exactly surprising, considering that this is a major new version of Android, of course.
We’ll talk about some changes here, but you can check out the full changelog if you’d like to know every change made in OxygenOS 16. These changes are made on top of the core Android 16 changes, of course.
This update revamps the animations that the system offers. They’ll begin and end at intuitive places, and make interactions feel smoother. That includes a ton of different animations within the system, all of which are listed in the full changelog.
Trinity Engine is here to ensure your phone provides smooth performance
The Trininty Engine now optimizes workload and resources on the fly. Its goal is to maintain smooth performance across videos, gaming, and extended camera use. It will also enhance steady gaming performance “through intelligent analysis and prioritization of key computational tasks.”
There is a new voice memory feature that lets you record what you want to remember and save it to Mind Space. OnePlus is also bringing various different AI improvements. That includes improvement for Photos, Notes, Recorder, and more.
Flux themes are also getting a boost. You can set motion wallpapers for your OnePlus Open, with AI-powered depth effects. Always-On Display is getting some updates, too, and much more.
