AdventHealth has wrapped up construction on a 5-story, 143,000 square-foot heart center in Littleton. The $150 million addition will require 85 medical professionals. The new facility includes 24 intensive care beds, three operating rooms, three cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs and other imaging technology.
It will offer several cardiac services, including open-heart surgery and intensive care.
The center’s first three floors are completely built out, and the fourth and fifth floors are shelled for future use.
The Denver Business Journal reports that The Heart Institute is one of several investments that AdventHealth has announced at its Colorado locations in recent years. The Altamonte Springs, Florida-based health system broke ground in January on a $300 million, seven-story tower addition at AdventHealth Parker Hospital and revealed plans to build a new hospital in Aurora as part of a planned 40-acre medical campus.
