- The Sterrato quickly sold out and widened the Huracan’s appeal.
- Expect the Temerario lineup to grow with several new variants.
- A Spyder version is widely expected to join the range soon.
Lamborghini may not be finished with the Sterrato idea just yet. The rugged, rally-style spin on the Huracan struck a chord with buyers, and the company is already hinting that something similar could return in the future. If it does, the most likely starting point would be the newer Temerario rather than the now-retired V10 platform.
When the Sterrato appeared in 2023, it caught plenty of people off guard. A lifted Lamborghini supercar with chunky tires and off-road pretensions was hardly typical territory for the brand’s mid-engined lineup. Yet the formula worked. Buyers embraced the concept quickly, and the car ended up carving out its own niche alongside unusual machines like the Porsche 911 Dakar.

“The success of the Sterrato was global and for me, it was one of the things I always wanted to do, since more than a decade ago,” Lamborghini chief executive Stefan Winkelmann told CarExpert.
A New Sterrato?

Quizzed about the possibility of a follow-up being introduced, Winkelmann said he couldn’t rule it out, but indicated the more immediate priority for its supercars is coupe, convertible, and high-performance versions.
“It’s always a matter of if we have the resources to do so. But for sure, let’s say the main focus is open, is on a closed version, open version, and more performance – this is the idea, the classic idea,” he said. “At the end of the life cycle [of the Huracan], we did it, and it was something which was very exciting and very successful, so let’s see … It’s not in the plans today but never say never.”
Given that the Temerario is less than 18 months old, any potential Sterrato variant would probably be a long way off. In the near term, we expect Lamborghini to release a Spyder version of the supercar, retaining the hardtop’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 hybrid, delivering a combined 907 hp.
After that model arrives, Lamborghini will probably release a lighter, more powerful version akin to the Huracan Performante or Huracan STO, probably producing closer to 950 hp.
