Two decades ago, Chrysler decided to take a page from its then-partner Mercedes-Benz and build its own version of the SLK roadster. The result was the Crossfire, a curious fusion of American style and German engineering that hasn’t seen a successor since production wrapped up in 2008.
If you’ve ever wanted one that’s practically new, here’s your chance. This 2006 Chrysler Crossfire Special Edition Roadster is up for auction with just 192 miles on the odometer.

This particular Crossfire is the Special Edition, which, in reality, isn’t as special as it might sound. Essentially, the package includes Blaze Red Crystal Pearl paint, a Dark Slate Gray cloth interior, and staggered-diameter wheels.
Shared DNA, Different Badge
That’s right, not a single serious performance upgrade, but hey, at least this one has a six-speed manual gearbox. That transmission routes power to the rear wheels from a 3.2-liter M112 V6, good for 215 horsepower (160 kW) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque.
That engine code is from Mercedes because this is essentially an R170-generation SLK with Chrysler trappings. Love it or hate it, the car benefits from a German-engineered suspension.
Inside, you’ll find manually adjustable seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and a factory AM/FM/CD stereo. The digital odometer reports 192 miles on the clock since new.

The seller notes that the soft top’s hydraulics were rebuilt within the last four months, while the brake fluid was flushed and the car received a fresh oil change and new battery.

Carfax Shows Over 63,000 Miles
It’s worth noting that this auction does have a spicy little side detail to consider. The Carfax reports 63,899 miles as of February of this year.
Here’s what the seller has to say on that matter: “Carfax shows a clerical error my office made when we originally titled it. We will submit for correction no issue. I personally flew to TN where this car lived since new. Was kept amongst over 100 other wild cars. More details to come you will not find another like it!”
We can’t verify that account, but the undercarriage photos seem to back up the low-mileage claim. The surfaces look so clean you could almost eat off them, though we’d strongly suggest resisting the urge.
