“It’s over for the Biden legacy,” the “Breakfast Club” co-host said on Tuesday’s show while discussing Harris’s just-released book, “107 Days.”
“I always thought the Biden legacy was trash anyway. This definitely confirms it,” he added.Â
Namechecking the book “Original Sin,” about the end of Biden’s presidency by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson, as well as a forthcoming tell-all from former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Charlamagne said, “To me, nobody was closer to [the Bidens] than the vice president.
“So it’s very damning what she says about Biden in the book, to me,” he added, before repeating, “I think the Biden legacy is trash.”
In “107 Days,” Harris said Biden’s initial decision to run for reelection last year amounted to “recklessness.”
“The stakes were simply too high. This wasn’t a choice that should have been left to an individual’s ego, an individual’s ambition. It should have been more than a personal decision,” Harris wrote, according to an excerpt released in The Atlantic.Â
Charlamagne, who was born Lenard McKelvey, said he read the ex-vice president’s words “cover to cover,” calling it a “fantastic read.”
“She does hold herself accountable in the book,” the media personality and “Get Honest or Die Lying” author said of Harris’s election loss.Â
“I think people are acting like she’s just out here saying all types of stuff about the Bidens. But no, she holds herself accountable as well,” he said.Â
In a Tuesday interview on “The View,” Harris said, “This book is not about Joe Biden. I love Joe Biden.”
“I also have been really clear and made a point of making it clear: Joe Biden was a highly capable president that accomplished great things that history will talk about,” Harris said.Â
