Members of the Congressional Black Caucus will speak with reporters Tuesday afternoon about Democrats’ push to counter GOP-led redistricting efforts across the country ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Democrats have vowed to fight back. In California, state lawmakers advanced a ballot measure to offset the GOP’s potential gains. Voters in the Golden State will weigh in on the issue during a special election in November.
The redistricting tit-for-tat could have major implications for which party controls the House — with Republicans defending a narrow majority and Democrats hoping to take on oversight of the Trump administration.
