EdgeCore is just a vote away from building a 72 megawatt data center in the Arizona rural town of Florence, a town about an hour’s drive southeast of Phoenix. The project, on 750 acres, will include 332,000 square feet of space across 10 two-story buildings. Each building would employ 50 people.
Ryan Companies is listed as the developer. Dobson Family Farms is listed as the landowner.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports that the site is located within two designated growth areas in the town’s general plan due to its proximity to the Union Pacific and Copper Basin Railroad lines and a proposed new highway. All that’s left is a vote from the town council.
EdgeCore has another data center project in Mesa, at the southwest corner of Elliot Road and Everton Terrace. Once fully completed, the Mesa data center campus will have more than 450 megawatts of capacity and amount to 3.1 million square feet.
