As part of IFA 2025, Samsung announced a couple of new products. The star of the show, many would say, is the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. This is a new member of the Galaxy S25 series, and the most affordable member at that. The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is one of the devices that won our IFA 2025 award. It’s a very compelling smartphone that comes as a cheaper alternative to other Galaxy S25 smartphones, all of which arrived back in January.
The Galaxy S25 FE is a new, more affordable member of the Galaxy S25 series
The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE definitely does look like a member of the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung went with a nice, squarish design. The phone has a flat front, back, and even frame, while its corners are rounded a bit. A standard three-camera setup on the back is included, in which the camera islands are vertically aligned. The display bezels are not thick at all. All in all, the phone looks very nice, and exactly what we’ve expected, pretty much. It’s made out of aluminum and glass, and it feels really nice in the hand.
Its specifications are also quite solid. It has a compelling 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and comes with 8GB of RAM. The Exynos 2400 SoC from Samsung fuels the device, while a 4,700mAh battery is also a part of the package. Both wired and wireless charging is supported, while the charging speeds go up to 45W (for wired charging). A 50-megapixel main camera on the back is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto snapper (3x optical zoom).
Samsung made a huge software support promise
The latest version of Android, Android 16, also comes pre-installed here. It comes with Samsung’s One UI 8.0 skin, and all the software you’d expect from Samsung. The company is also promising a long life cycle for this smartphone. The Galaxy S25 FE will be getting OS and security upgrades for 7 years, that’s Samsung’s promise. That’s a flagship-level support this phone will be getting, and it’s always nice to see, of course.
With a starting price tag of $649.99, the Galaxy S25 FE is more affordable than the Galaxy S25. While there is plenty of competition in the market at this price tag, Samsung has a huge appeal, of course. If you’re unwilling to go for a higher price tag of the Galaxy S25, and also want a larger display at the same time, the Galaxy S25 FE may be just the right fit.
