YouTube TV is an option for those looking to break ties with traditional cable TV. The base pack starts at $82.99, and while this seems pretty expensive, the price feels justified for the features it offers and the clutter-free app experience. Despite that, if you feel the subscription price is quite steep, you may be in luck. YouTube TV is reportedly offering a discount to its existing subscribers, who can save $33 a month.
The YouTube TV discount is not available to new subscribers
A Reddit user named oestred discovered a discount offer that brings down the monthly subscription fee to just $49.99. This is a good $33 monthly savings. However, the catch is that the offer is only valid for two months. The subscription price will revert to its original cost once the offer’s validity is exhausted. Despite this, it’s not a bad deal, and you should check it out.
The discount to the streaming platform appears to be available only to existing subscribers and doesn’t seem to apply to new subscribers. Since the company hasn’t announced it officially, we’re not sure how long it’ll be available.
The discount is valid for only two months
If you’re an existing subscriber, you can check for the offer by heading to YouTube TV. The Redditor notes you should access it on a desktop instead of the app. Open YouTube TV settings, and then Membership > Base plan, and click manage here. Now select Account, and you should see the offer, considering you’re eligible. Tap on the offer to activate the discount for the next two months.
Android Authority reports that the discount offer is present in one of their accounts. With $33 discount a month, you’re in for a total savings of $66 for two months.
Lately, it appears a lot is going on with YouTube TV. Recently, it’s been reported that it may add a new “Sports & Broadcast” package. However, it’s still in the early planning stage, and the price details are not out yet.
