Tele-Fonika Cable Americas Corp. is exploring a site in the Waller Independent School District near the Harris County-Waller County border, where it could seek tax breaks. The anticipated investment is approximately $380 million over a 4-year period, with construction commencing in 2026Â and concluding by the end of 2029.
The production facility will make cables used in industrial applications, such as medium- and high-voltage cables, mining cables, welding cables, flexible cords, submersible pump cables and stage lighting cables. The factory would employ 75 people.
Operations are expected to begin in 2029. The 10-year incentive would run between 2030 and 2039.
The site considered is a 117-acre parcel at 19702 Kickapoo Road in Waller. TFCA is also considering another site in another state. The company says it has a conditional sales agreement. It could bow out if the tax incentives don’t measure up.
