The launch of the iPhone 17 lineup is nearing, with reports claiming that mass production has already begun. There’s a shift in strategy this year as Apple could dump the ‘Plus’ variant in favor of the iPhone 17 Air. Besides new iPhones, Apple appears to be silently readying new accessories. Well, it’s not behind doors anymore as a new leak claims the Cupertino giant will launch new TechWoven cases for the iPhone 17 series. These could replace the controversial FineWoven cases, which were not your best bet for durability.
Apple reportedly readying new TechWoven cases for iPhone 17
Leaker Majin Bu claims that Apple will debut the “TechWoven” cases. These feature a refreshed design while also offering enhanced durability for longevity. Most importantly, these cases comply with Apple’s sustainable approach. The leakster explains that TechWoven cases blend the strength of a technical fabric with a premium aesthetic.
Unlike the FineWoven cases, the TechWoven cases will offer scratch resistance and improved protection against impacts. The case will apparently won’t have a luxurious design, which is a compromise you’ll have to live with for better durability. They could get a non-slip texture finish for better grip. The box images shared are said to be clones of the original models.
The new TechWoven cases could be available in five colors
The new line of cases could be available for all iPhone 17 models in five shades, including black, brown, blue, green, and purple. But they could have an official name. For example, one case image shows ‘Sienna’.
The TechWoven cases will reportedly get two lanyard holes in the bottom right and left corners for convenience. One of the images confirms MagSafe compatibility. The images of the case boxes suggest a cutout for camera control.
Whether the cases are for real or not, we will know for sure in the next couple of weeks. We just hope Apple has taken the feedback from its past experiences into consideration, given that the cases are indeed launching alongside the iPhone 17.
