A Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has likely chosen Georgetown to build a large factory.
The Austin Business Journal reports Pegatron Technologies intends to start work soon on a $20 million tenant improvement project at the 169,000-square-foot building 3 of the Blue Springs Business Park in Georgetown.
Molto Properties owns the 600,000-square-foot Blue Springs Business Park and is being leased by Transwestern Real Estate Services’ Nash Frisbie and Endeavor Real Estate Group’s Carter Thurmond.
Over the last several months, Pegatron has been exploring options to expand its manufacturing footprint in the United States despite the Trump administration’s import tariffs.
Many Taiwanese companies have begun operations in Texas recently, including Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. — more widely known as Foxconn Technology Group — in Houston, and Wistron Corp. in Dallas. Inventec Corp. has also said it’s building a facility in Texas.
