The new hotel that will anchor Cincinnati’s renovated convention center district will be a Marriott, announced the developer Portman Holdings.
The 700-room hotel is set to start construction by the end of this year and open in 2028. The convention center is set to be completed by the end of the year. The hotel will also feature a 62,000 square-feet meeting space, a 17,445-square-foot events terrace and upscale amenities. It will also include multiple ballrooms, ground-floor retail and an outdoor terrace.
“Marriott’s involvement will help deliver a world-class hospitality experience in the heart of Cincinnati’s Convention District,” said Kaunteya Chitnis, managing director of hospitality at Portman Holdings. The Cincinnati Downtown Marriott is a component of Cincinnati’s broader Convention District Revitalization Plan, which also includes $264 million in renovations to the Duke Energy Convention Center and the improvement of surrounding public spaces.
