Genesis is inching closer to unveiling its flagship electric SUV, the GV90, and a new set of spy shots is offering the clearest look yet at its production interior. Captured during testing and originally shared by HealerTV on YouTube, the images reveal a cabin that blends high-end luxury with strong visual links to the Genesis Neolun Concept.
The GV90 will sit above the GV80 in Genesis’ SUV lineup and is expected to become the brand’s most expensive and technologically advanced model to date. It will ride on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform — the same dedicated EV architecture underpinning the GV60, Kia EV9, and Hyundai Ioniq 7 — allowing for fast charging, a flat floor, and optimised packaging.
That also means the GV90 will likely offer 800V electrical architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging speeds and advanced software support, including over-the-air updates and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability — although final specs are still under wraps.
Purple Leather, Rear Screens, And Four-Seat Layout
The standout feature in these new photos is the use of bold purple leather upholstery, seen across the door cards, seats, and centre console — closely mirroring the Neolun’s “Purple Silk” interior theme. The design direction suggests that Genesis is targeting a luxurious, lounge-like feel rather than the more minimalist aesthetic seen in rivals.
Rear-seat comfort also appears to be a focus. The GV90 test mule shows a four-seat layout, with a large central console in the back housing cupholders, a wireless charging pad, and what looks to be a secondary display. This setup hints at chauffeur-style practicality for higher trims.
At the front, a wide curved display stretches across the dashboard — a common trait in current Genesis models — though its exact dimensions and functionality remain unconfirmed. The design language bears clear resemblance to both the GV60 and the updated GV80, with soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and integrated air vents expected to carry over.
Designed To Challenge The Best
Genesis has made no secret of its ambition to take on the global luxury establishment — and the GV90 is shaping up to be a clear marker of intent. Positioned above the combustion-powered G90 sedan in the product hierarchy, it’s being developed not just as a flagship SUV, but as a statement EV. The four-seat layout and detailed finish already push it into territory typically occupied by long-wheelbase luxury SUVs like the BMW iX M60,Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, and even Range Rover SV.
And while Genesis may lack the brand legacy of those European rivals, it’s been quietly building a reputation for high-quality design, materials, and technology. If the GV90 delivers on its early promise — and arrives with competitive range, pricing, and driver tech — it could shake up the segment in a big way.
