International Engine of the Year. It’s a title that almost every automaker aspires to bring home, and for good reason. Earning an International Engine of the Year title meant that an automaker had made a name for itself both in its home country and around the world based on its ability to produce a great motor. Some of the key attributes an engine needed to display to win an award were power output, noise, smoothness, and fuel economy.
