Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is testifying before the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on Health Tuesday morning about the department’s fiscal 2026 budget request and the Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda.
The hearing comes as Kennedy, known for past anti-vaccine rhetoric, faces criticism from both sides of the aisle over his decision to overhaul an independent panel that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on vaccines — including firing the sitting members and naming his own panelists.
President Trump’s budget request also includes steep cuts to the National Institutes of Health and HHS.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
