For almost as long as car enthusiasts have existed, so too has the V8 engine. While it is not the smoothest nor the most efficient engine configuration, for many, there is simply no substitute for the roar of eight cylinders in terms of driving fun and acoustic enjoyment. Like so many brands, especially of the premium or sporty classification, the V8 is also synonymous with Mercedes-Benz, as for over 50 years, you have been able to buy a Mercedes with a V8, whether the goal was wafting about in luxury or doing a hot lap of the Nordschleife.
