The Liberty Hill City Council greenlighted Costco Wholesale’s request to build a new store close to the corner of US 183 and Seward Junction Loop.
The nearly 40-acre campus will include a 156,000 square foot retail store and a fueling area with 24 spots. The retail portion of the campus is expected to cost $62.6 million, and the fuel station is set to cost $12.4 million. The fuel station and the retail space are expected to be finished by the end of November.
As far as Costco’s go in Texas, the largest store is in Midland, 180,000 square feet. Texas is home to 42 stores, while there are 628 nationwide in 49 states and territories.
The town will also get its first Target. The 147,000 square-foot store will be between U.S. Highway 183 and State Highway 29. Liberty is a town of 10,000 residents 30 minutes north of Austin.
