The mid-engined layout is not frequently associated with cars that have more than two seats, for several reasons. First off, mid-engined cars are usually associated with performance, rather than practicality, so two-seater sports cars are the most common type of vehicle to sport a mid-engined layout. The second reason is entirely practical: a mid-engined car is less likely to have physical space to fit in a set of rear seats, due to the placement of the engine itself.
